Palma Airport · PMI
The only taxi rank you need at PMI.
Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI) is the only commercial airport on the island, and it has a single, well-marked official taxi rank. This guide shows you where it is, what you should expect to pay to anywhere on Mallorca, and how to avoid the unlicensed drivers who occasionally approach tourists inside the terminal.

Step-by-step on arrival
- 1
Collect your bags from baggage reclaim
The taxi rank is signposted from the moment you leave the carousel. Don't accept a ride from anyone who approaches you inside the terminal.
- 2
Follow signs to ‘Taxi’ on the ground floor
The rank is outside the Arrivals hall (Planta Baixa). Exit the building and turn right. Marshals direct the queue — don't pick a car yourself.
- 3
Take the next available white taxi
Every licensed car is white with a green roof-light. The meter starts only once you are inside and the driver activates it.
- 4
Pay by card or cash
Card readers are mandatory. The final fare matches the meter plus any clearly listed supplements (luggage, airport, late-night).
What you should expect to pay

Watch out for unlicensed drivers
A small number of unregistered drivers occasionally approach tourists inside the terminal, offering rides for cash. These are not part of the regulated fleet, are not insured for paying passengers, and the price is not guaranteed.
- Always use the marked rank outside Arrivals.
- Don't accept rides offered inside the terminal or in the car park.
- Look for the green roof-light and a white car.
- Card payment is mandatory — “card machine broken” is a red flag.
